Background

PLZF (Promyelocytic Leukemia Zinc-Finger protein, also known as ZBTB16) is a member of the POK (POZ and Krüppel) family of transcriptional repressors. PLZF is expressed in early, but not differentiated, hematopoietic cells and is required for spermatogonial stem cell maintenance. In addition, PLZF regulates genes involved in cellular proliferation and differentiation (cyclin A2, Myc and Hox genes) and targeted deletion of PLZF in mice results in limb and axial skeleton and limb deformations.

Application Notes

Recombinant PLZF Protein is useful for the study of protein-protein interaction, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling. This product was manufactured as described in Protein Details. Where possible, Active Motif has developed functional or activity assays for recombinant proteins. Additional characterization such as enzyme kinetic activity assays, inhibitor screening or other biological activity assays may not have been performed for every product. All available data for a given product is shown on the lot-specific Technical Data Sheet.

Protein Details

Recombinant human PLZF was expressed in a baculovirus expression system as the full length protein (accession number NP_005997.2) with an N-terminal FLAG-Tag. The molecular weight of the protein is of 77.3 kDa. The IRF3 protein is >85% pure by SDS-PAGE.
