Immunogen
This TORC2 antibody was raised against a peptide at the C-terminus of human TORC2.
Buffer
Rabbit serum containing 30% glycerol and 0.035% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.
Background
TORC2 (Transducer of regulated cAMP response element-binding protein 2) (CRTC2 or CREB-regulated transcription coactivator 2) is a coactivator of transcription through the CREB1 signaling pathway, independent of phosphorylation at serine 133. Involved in metabolic signaling pathways, it is responsive to glucagon signaling and regulates gluconeogenesis. It is a potent activator of mitochondrial biogenesis in muscle cells. TORC2 is inactivated by phosphorylation at serine 171 (in response to both insulin signaling and the activation of AMPK), which facilitates recognition by 14-3-3 protein and subsequent translocation to the cytoplasm.
