Application Notes
Applications Validated by Active Motif:
WB: 1:1,000 - 1:5,000 dilution
The addition of 0.05% Tween 20 in the blocking buffer and primary antibody incubation buffer is recommended to aid in detection by Western blot. Individual optimization may be required.

Immunogen
This Nap1 antibody was raised against a His-Tagged full-length protein corresponding to Drosophila Nap1.
Buffer
PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide, 0.2 mg/ml BSA and 35% glycerol. Sodium azide is highly toxic.
Nap1 pAb tested by Western blot.
Schneider's Drosophila L2 nuclear extract (10 µg) was probed with Nap1 pAb (1:1,000 dilution).
Background
Nap1 (Nucleosome assembly protein 1) is a member of the nucleosome assembly protein (NAP) family. Nap1 serves as a chaperone for Histone H2A-Histone H2B dimers, and participates in DNA replication and may play a role in modulating chromatin formation and contribute to the regulation of cell proliferation. Nap1 binds the HIV Rev protein, stimulating its RNA export function, while causing it to localize away from the nucleolus.
Storage
Some products may be shipped at room temperature. This will not affect their stability or performance. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles by aliquoting items into single-use fractions for storage at -20°C for up to 2 years. Keep all reagents on ice when not in storage.
