Applications

Application Notes
Applications Validated by Active Motif:
WB: 1 - 2 µg/ml dilution
For optimal results, primary antibody incubations should be performed at room temperature. The addition of 0.1% Tween 20 to all blocking solutions may also reduce background. Individual optimization may be required.
Immunogen
This FosB antibody was raised against a peptide corresponding to amino acid residues 2-14 of human FosB.
Buffer
PBS containing 0.05% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.
FosB mAb tested by Western blot.
Detection of FosB by Western blot. The analysis was performed using HeLa nuclear extract and FosB mAb. A protein of approximate MW of 46 kDa was detected. The lower MW protein detected at 34 kDa may be the isoform of D2D FosB.
Background
FosB (FBJ murine osteosarcoma viral oncogene homolog B or Fos B) is a member of the Fos gene family of leucine zipper proteins that dimerize with the Jun family of proteins to form transcription factor AP-1. AP-1 controls cellular processes such as differentiation, proliferation and apoptosis. Other AP-1 family members consist of c-Fos, Fra-1, Fra-2, c-Jun, JunB and JunD.
Positive Control
Active Motif's HeLa nuclear extract (Catalog No. 36010) can be used as a positive control for FosB antibody.
Storage
Some products may be shipped at room temperature. This will not affect their stability or performance. Store at 4°C for short term. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles by aliquoting items into single-use fractions for storage at -20°C for up to 2 years. Keep all reagents on ice when not in storage.
Guarantee
This product is guaranteed for 12 months from date of receipt.
This product is for research use only and is not for use in diagnostic procedures.
